overtime pay



i work for a multi-state trucking company and i am a mechanic. i am required by the company to have a cdl licence even though i donot drive any shipments. for more than thirty years i have worked over fourty hours per week and my company tells me that i am not entitled to overtime pay because i fall under the drivers time allowed to drive per day law. is this legal?
